Please keep in mind that the Indonesian government has issued it digitally, as an Electronic Visa Known as ITAS. Before you decide which Investor KITAS is right for you, you should be aware that Indonesia has a variety of KITAS categories.
Investor KITAS and work permit KITAS are classified according to their validity:
Meanwhile, the KITAS work permit is only valid for a year. When you have an Investor KITAS, you do not have to wait long to start running your business after you have secured in your investment in the country.
obtaining an investor visa In terms of residency, you will be granted access to Indonesia's public facilities and may even be granted citizenship after passing the 10th KITAS! Furthermore, it provides numerous appealing benefits, such as ease of application and waiver of the work permit fee. For example, you should not have to pay $ 1,200 per year for a working permit, which was previously required. This automatically saves you up to IDR 40 million over the course of a two-year visa!
You can enter and leave Indonesia multiple times within the permit validity by holding an Investor KITAS.
To obtain an Investor KITAS, you must make an investment in a PT. PMA (Foreign Owned Company) in Indonesia and work for that company as a director or commissioner. In this case, the company's authorized capital should be greater than IDR 10 billion, with at least 25% of its authorized capital paid up. In addition, you must have a minimum investment of approximately IDR 1 billion in company shares without holding any position. However, if you arrive with the shares but no position in a PMA company, you will not be allowed to work or participate on the management.
If you want to be more active and involved in the day-to-day operations of the company, you can become a director rather than a commissioner. However, in terms of government regulations, if you want to be a director of a company, you must also meet certain requirements. You must ensure that all tasks handled are within the scope of the company's business. Second, the company should ensure that all Indonesians have equal opportunities to earn a living.
The Investor KITAS application process is now much faster than it was previously because the recommendation letter from the BKPM (Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board) is no longer required and you can apply directly through the online system.
To begin, you must complete all of the necessary documents, including a signed application letter and the company registration document, and upload them to the online portal application. After the visa is authorized by the Directorate General Indonesia, you will receive a TELEX (an approval from the Directorate General Indonesia on the visa submission), which will be sent to the Indonesian Embassy wherever you are, and your VITAS will be issued within 60 days of the application.
When you arrive in Indonesia, you must convert your VITAS to Investor KITAS. The entire process, including registration at the civil department to obtain a Certificate or Family Formation of Temporary Residents and STM (Police Certificate), can take up to 10-14 working days. You only need to wait for the biometric session and the final steps of conversion after submitting your passport to the immigration office. Finally, you will be issued an Investor KITAS, allowing you to live and work in the country.
